CHWC was recently named one of the top 20 rural and community hospitals in the United States—the second year in a row CHWC has earned this designation from the National Rural Health Association. The staff at CHWC are proud to fulfill our mission of enhancing the health, safety and well-being of our community; earning this award is a sure sign that we are successfully delivering on this mission every day.
The award is based on an evaluation by the Chartis Center for Rural Health using iVantage Health Analytics’ Hospital Strength Index. The determining factors for the top 20 rural and community hospitals were based on eight indices: inpatient market share, outpatient market share, quality, outcomes, patient perspectives, costs, charge, and financial efficiency.
“I am so proud to lead such a dedicated and hard-working team here at CHWC,” says Chad Tinkel, CHWC’s president and CEO. “Earning this award for the second year running confirms that we are delivering on our mission and that our community can count on us to deliver the services they need now and into the future.”
In addition to traditional hospital services, CHWC has also built its service lines significantly over the past five years by expanding its medical specialty clinics in the areas of women’s health, gastroenterology, cardiology, ENT, general surgery, oncology, urology, orthopedics, pain management and wound care. CHWC has successfully completed numerous accreditation surveys, including hospital and laboratory surveys by Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and radiology and obstetrics surveys by Ohio Department of Health.
CHWC is thrilled to accept this honor from the National Rural Health Association! It is a privilege for our staff to provide comprehensive, patient-centered healthcare to our community.
Thank you to our advertising sponsors for sharing their support and appreciation for the important work we do here at CHWC!
