Some changes to our visitation policy and entry screening protocols were made in late March, 2022, thanks to a steadily-decreasing COVID positivity rate in our area. Most CHWC departments now allow two visitors per patient at a time (ages 12+)—the big change here is that visitors are no longer dedicated, meaning different people can visit but only two are permitted in the room at once. There are some exceptions to this, such as our COVID unit and our New Beginnings Birthing Center, which will permit two dedicated visitors. We are also no longer asking screening questions when patients and visitors enter our facilities; rather, we are asking people to self-screen and refrain from visiting if they are sick, if they have had recent close exposure to someone who is COVID-positive or if they have had a positive COVID test in the past 10 days.
