Cancer care is a team effort at Bryan Hospital, from board-certified surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists and oncology-certified nurses to social workers, pharmacists, dietitians, and therapists. We also participate in a national cancer registry.
Conditions treated at the CHWC Cardiology Clinic include: heart attack, hypertension, high cholesterol, dyslipidemia, peripheral vascular disease, conduction disorders, aortic valvular disease, angina pectoris, pericarditis and more.
Coffee & Gift Shop
Our Kora Coffee & Gift Shop offers a variety of coffee, tea and food as well as gift shop items. Flowers and balloons can be ordered and sent to patients’ rooms by calling the main Bryan Hospital line (419-636-1131) and asking for the Kora gift shop or extension 11011.
Accommodating the unique needs of every patient, our counseling professionals provide treatment and direction for a wide variety of mental health problems. We work with children, adolescents, and adults in individual, couples/marriage and family settings.
ENT, Sinus & Allergy
Our ENT, Sinus & Allergy Clinic provides care for ear infections, balance disorders, hearing loss, sinus infections, allergies, snoring, sleep apnea, reconstructive surgery, maxillofacial trauma and neck cancers.
CHWC operates two full-time Emergency Departments, one in Bryan and the other in Montpelier. These units provide immediate and emergent care and services for over 17,500 patient visits each year. We realize that the need to visit the Emergency Department can be a stressful time. Our goal is to meet the needs of each patient and provide an excellent care experience for everyone who steps into our ER.
Our ACLS certified, specially trained nurses provide high-quality care in our state of the art ICU. Critically ill adults are treated for a wide variety of conditions including heart attack, irregular blood pressure, heart abnormalities. We also care for patients who require continuous cardiac monitoring for conditions involving cardiac disease, a pacemaker, respiratory disease, and more.
Our radiology services include CT scanning, MRIs, x-ray imaging, ultrasounds, and more. Some diagnostic and therapeutic services like abscess drainage, arthrography, and vertebroplasty are also available.
In addition to screening for colorectal cancer and polyps, a number of gastrointestinal (GI) issues are treated at our Gastroenterology Clinic. This includes abdominal pain, reflux (GERD), Barrett’s esophagus, celiac disease, anemia, IBS, malabsorption, pancreatic disorders and many others.
Accredited by the Joint Commission, our labs provide basic and specialized testing; basic laboratory testing is available six days a week, and procedures that are not done in-house are sent to an approved reference lab which offers a turnaround time of 24–72 hours for most tests.
The Massage Therapy Clinic at Bryan Hospital features specialty therapeutic massage including neuromuscular; oncology; and prenatal, postnatal and doula (during labor and delivery, for comfort and support).
Our diagnostic neurology services include electroencephalograms, routine EEG, extended EEG and sleep deprived EEG.
Our registered dietitians are passionate to work with inpatients and outpatients to achieve a higher level of health and manage diseases such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes and cancer—as well as navigating food sensitivities, intolerances and allergies. In addition to recommending special diet guidelines tailored to a patient’s needs and preferences, we also provide practical lifestyle advice that applies to the general public.
Our Women’s Health Clinic offers the full spectrum of OB/GYN care, including prenatal care, labor and delivery, evaluations of menstrual irregularities, family planning, adolescent gynecology and more. Our New Beginnings Birthing Center offers childbirth education classes and certified lactation consultants. All our staff members are neonatal resuscitation certified and have completed the University of Virginia Perinatal Program. Several OB nurses are certified in inpatient obstetrical nursing.
Our talented doctors and nurses are specifically trained to assist with orthopedic surgery and patient recovery. Additionally, we have a dedicated orthopedic nurse navigator who works with patients before, during and after their surgery.
Advanced physician education and technology have made pain treatments more tolerable, less invasive and very effective at getting patients’ pain managed. We diagnose and treat neck pain, back pain, pelvic pain, nerve damage, headaches, and many more pain-related conditions. Some of the procedures we perform include spinal diagnostic procedures, joint injections, and nerve block.
Rehabilitation & Therapy
Our extensive rehabilitation and therapy programs strive to provide each patient with high quality, individualized plan of care that gets them back to their lives. At Bryan Hospital, we specialize in occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy and cardiac rehabilitation.
Surgical services at Bryan Hospital include six fully integrated primary operating suites, four outpatient special procedure suites, lithotripsy for treatment of kidney stones, a post anesthesia care unit, an ambulatory services unit, sterile processing and extended stay surgery—an alternative for certain patients who may need a longer recovery into the evening or overnight, up to 23 hours after surgery.
Our Urology Clinic treats urinary tract infections, incontinence, prostate problems, infertility, kidney stones, erectile dysfunction and cancers of the prostate, testicles, bladder, and kidney.
Wound Care Solutions features nationally-certified professionals who offer a full range of wound care services, individualized treatment plans and specialty services for patients with ostomies.
