Improvement/Risk Management
This
Department serves as the primary conduit where the hospital sponsors
and coordinates ongoing and continuous monitoring of all aspects of
care to ensure that patients receive quality care in a safe manner
and environment. Our Medical Staff provides the primary input to
monitor our work.
This
Department also responds to patient/family complaints or
concerns. There is a total commitment to empower patients to
share their experience and to seek the input of employees to meet
customer needs and satisfaction.
Quality
Measurement
This Department coordinates all hospital efforts to gather data and
utilize the information it generates to further quality patient
care. Quality Measurement now extends into the Oryx initiative
of the Joint Commission and the various State and Federal health care
data gathering requirements. We benchmark our efforts with other
hospital members of the national database of the Rural Wisconsin
Healthcare Cooperative.
Utilization
Review
Many
insurance companies require prior notification before healthcare
services can be performed. Our staff works to make sure that
patients are meeting their requirements so that their benefits are in
place.
