The new OB department at Bryan Hospital, which
will open in the fall of 2009, will feature nine birthing suites
where moms will stay from the time they are admitted until they
are discharged. The rooms are large enough for a family member
to stay overnight with mom and baby.
To welcome the first newborns,
a shower of gifts from the hospital and from local businesses
will be given to the first babies born in the new unit.

through the web site UpToDate: Patient Information. For easy access, Community
Hospitals and Wellness Centers offers a link to the UpToDate web site from its
home page.
From high
cholesterol to gallstones to tennis elbow, UpToDate provides information about
a variety of medical topics. Its 3000 authors are physicians from leading
medical schools all over the world. They review over 300 medical journals each
month to update the relevant articles on the UpToDate web site.
Originally a web site for physicians, UpToDate
now has information for patients, also. Physicians who are experts in their
fields write the articles that are revised continually based on new medical
findings. Before publication on the web site, the information is reviewed by
multiple experts to check for accuracy.
The CHWC Bryan Hospital Auxiliary is underwriting the hospital’s
